📢 Lost and Found Announcement

Check out the updates for CES! Spring Book Fair and Read Across America this week at the Creek!

We were trying out a new debt letter system. The system sent a letter to every parent in the school instead of just the negative ones. It seems all letters say negative instead of negative or positive. The issue was corrected. We are sorry for the confusion. It isn't a scam email, it was just sent out incorrectly.

Thank you to Seven Brew Coffee in Madison for donating 140 coffees and energy drinks this morning for our teachers and staff! We appreciate your support! The Madison location will open March 10!

Elementary Book Fair is NEXT WEEK!!📚The fair will be set up in the library to shop Monday-Friday during Read Across America. Mrs. Norton is always in need of volunteers for this event, so please reach out if you would like to help. Brooke.Norton@lcsk12.org. www.scholastic.com/bf/creeksideelementary

🍭📖 Reading is Sweet! 📖🍬
Read Across America Week is next week!! We have exciting activities and treats planned for the students, and we can’t wait to dive into lots of great books! Additionally, a House Coin War will kick off to raise funds for the North Alabama Foster Closet.

Meet the Author📖
Our very own William Morgan, a 5th grader, and his mother collaborated to write and publish their book “The Adventure Awaits.” This week, they stopped by our library to read excerpts from their new book and to participate in some related science experiments with Mrs. Durham’s and Mrs. Fee’s classes. The students loved it! We are so thankful to William and his mom for taking the time to share their story. Creekside is so proud of you, William!

WEATHER ALERT: Limestone County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay Thursday, February 20, 2025. Please remember to return all school-issued devices and chargers. With these extremely cold temperatures we also want to remind our bus riders to bundle up while waiting at the bus stop.

❄️What a great day of E-Learning! Thank you students, teachers, and parents for helping make today a success! Together, we’re making learning happen anytime, anywhere! 💻

Due to the threat of winter weather, Wednesday, February 19, will be an e-Learning day for Limestone County Schools. No in-person classes will be held. School-issued devices were sent home with students this afternoon, along with instructions from your student’s teachers. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and will inform you of any updates regarding activities on Thursday. Stay safe and warm!

REMINDER: Limestone County Schools will be closed Monday, February 17, 2025 in observance of Presidents' Day.

📸 Class picture day is tomorrow!

Creekside News Network had a special guest stop by this morning. Brad Travis with WAFF 48 News spent time with our students teaching them about his job as a meteorologist. He answered all of their weather questions and even made an appearance on CNN. Be sure to check him and our Creekside meteorologist out in the morning. The link can be found on our school website.❄️🌪️☀️☔️www.creeksideelem.org

Inspired by the Who Would Win book series, Creekside students had fun in the library this week making their picks for tonight’s Super Bowl game. There are several Creekside Chiefs that will be cheering loudly for Limestone County’s very own Reed Blankenship!🏈📚

For the remainder of the school year, we will have a House Spirit Day on the first Friday of each month! Wear your house shirts or house colors, and let’s show some spirit this Friday, February 7th! 💜💙🖤💛💚🧡
