Creekside Elementary School

Creekside was proud to welcome LCS faculty and staff to campus today for District Professional Development! Our faculty and staff had a wonderful day of learning, growing, and collaborating together.

Ms. Donaldson’s and Mrs. White’s 3rd grade classes recently wrapped up a coaching cycle with Mrs. Blackburn, Creekside’s math coach! Throughout the cycle, students worked on building equal groups and exploring the connections between equal groups, repeated addition, and multiplication. It was wonderful to see their mathematical thinking deepen and their confidence grow throughout the process!

📢 DATE CHANGE! Due to events taking place in both the Elementary and Primary Libraries this week, Priority Kids will now begin next Monday, September 21, instead of this week. Thank you for your understanding! We can’t wait to get started!

It’s BOOK FAIR Week!!📖🎉 Students will shop the fair during their class’s selected time slot. Classroom teachers will share their specific times. Grandparents are invited to stop by the fair during their lunch visits this week. Boosterthon Fun Run🎉 Creekside is so grateful to the community of supporters who rallied behind our students during this year’s Boosterthon Fun Run event! Because of you, we went above and beyond our ambitious $50,000 goal!! The energy and teamwork from this event will help create wonderful opportunities and experiences for our students throughout the school year! A big THANK YOU to Creekside PTO for all of your hard work and dedication in making this event the success it is!

As we approach the one-month mark of school being back in session, we don’t want to let the opportunity pass to officially introduce some new faces around Creekside. These educators were officially board approved at the August meetings and have already made such a positive impact on our campus and in the lives of their students. We’re grateful to have them at Creekside and appreciate all they’ve done to help us kick off the new school year on a strong note. Please join us in giving them an official Creekside welcome and thanking them for being such a valuable addition to our team. Showing our Creekside/East Limestone spirit with Crazy Hair Day!! We loved seeing all of the wild, wacky, and creative hairstyles arriving on campus this morning. To add to the excitement, our PTO stopped by carline this morning with some special guests to help jumpstart our Boosterthon school fundraiser!🎉

Sprocket made his way over to the Creek! Stormy weather wasn’t going to dampen our spirit. The Rocket City Trash Pandas mascot stopped by to celebrate our readers and promote the Reading with Sprocket Challenge.📚⚾️ The Trash Pandas Foundation Reading Program helps inspire a love of reading while supporting educators and bringing a little extra fun and excitement to reading. Last year’s 4th graders completed the challenge with our librarian, Mrs. Norton, alongside their teachers. Sprocket wanted to surprise our students with a special appearance and give them a big JOB WELL DONE! He spent some time in the library, popped into a few classrooms, and wrapped up the day with high-fives for students in carline. We’re looking forward to another year of Reading with Sprocket and another year of celebrating reading at Creekside!📖♥️
