1971: graduated Athens High School

1974: BS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education -Athens State University

1986: MA in Elementary Education - University of North Alabama

• 1984-1985: first grade at East Limestone Elementary School
• 1985-1986: fourth grade at East Limestone Elementary School
• 1986-1999: first grade at East Limestone Elementary School
• 1999 to present: first grade at Creekside Elementary School

As a native of Athens, Alabama, I grew up living in town. When we married in 1973, my husband, Oran and I moved to the country. He farms and has always lived in this area. I was unsure how I would like living in "the country" and never would have believed it, but I quickly came to love it.  I suppose that's obvious since we've now lived here for over 30 years. Our only child Luke lives in this area as well and is a home builder. Luke got married on August 13, 2011 to Heather Fields, so we now have a new daughter in law.  How exciting to finally get a daughter!  As of August 11, 2012, Heather gave birth to our first grandchild, Katelyn Mae Johnson.  She weighed 8.8 lbs. and was 20 in. long.  We are very blessed.
